Kiwanis Donates Books to Brodhead Elementary
Kiwanis Club of Rockcastle County recently donated 50 books to Brodhead Elementary School to be used in their new book vending machine. Bryanna Mullins, BES School Secretary, spoke to club members about how the new book machine has encouraged reading among students at all grade levels. Students earn tokens to use to “purchase” books.

Gabbard Guest Speaker at September 23rd Meeting
Lindsay Gabbard was guest speaker at the September 23, 2021 Kiwanis meeting. Lindsay is a dietitian at Rockcastle Regional Hospital. She gave an excellent overview of diabetes and how to manage the disease with diet and exercise. Thank you Lindsay!

2021 Rubber Ducky Race
The 1st Annual Kiwanis Rubber Ducky Race was a great success! We sold all 300 ducks and all proceeds will go toward projects for children/youth in Rockcastle County. 1st Place Winner ($100) – Jamie Nicely 2nd Place Winner ($50) – Shari Proctor 3rd Place Winner ($25) – Mike Wolken Special thanks to Mt. Pensol Guest Speaker at September 2nd Meeting
Andrew Pensol, Director of CSEPP, was the guest speaker at the September 2, 2021 Kiwanis meeting. He gave an update about the chemicals stored at the Bluegrass Depot. He also provided information about how Rockcastle County maintains equipment and plans for any emergency that may occur.
