• Kiwanis Donates Books to Brodhead Elementary

    Kiwanis Club of Rockcastle County recently donated 50 books to Brodhead Elementary School to be used in their new book vending machine. Bryanna Mullins, BES School Secretary, spoke to club members about how the new book machine has encouraged reading among students at all grade levels. Students earn tokens to use to “purchase” books.

  • Medley Awarded 2021 Scholarship

    Kerrigan Medley was awarded the Kiwanis Ginny Gilpatrick Scholarship of $1,000. Kerrigan is the daughter of Anthony and Jill Medley of Brodhead. She plans to attend Georgetown College. She received a certificate of congratulations from Kiwanis Club President Rose Brown on May 20, 2021.

  • 2021 Kiwanis Scholarship Application

    Each year, the Kiwanis Club of Rockcastle County offers a $1,000 Community Service scholarship to a Rockcastle County High School senior who is a member of Key Club and has been accepted to an institution of higher education/technical school. Criterion for selection: Grade point average, participation in school and community service activities and completion of this application. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.   • 2020 Scholarship Awarded

    Kiwanis Club of Rockcastle County awarded the 2020 Ginny Gilpatrick Memorial Scholarship to Cynthia Wells, daughter of  Jeremy and Jacindia Rowe. Cynthia plans to attend the University of Kentucky and major in Business. Congratulations, Cynthia!

  • Kiwanis Donates to Area Technology Center Welding Program

    Kiwanis Club of Rockcastle County recently made a donation to the Rockcastle Area Technology to help purchase supplies for their new CNC plasma cutting table system.  Instructor Curtis Burton, has been working with students to learn how to set-up, program and produce parts.  Eleventh graders Hannah Ruppe and Hannah Neeley have been producing some prototype signs utilizing the equipment.  Anyone who may be interested in ordering a sign similar to the ones in the picture can contact Mr. Burton at curtis.burton@rockcastle.kyschools.us.  

  • RCMS Students Paint Kiwanis 5K Trophies

    Rockcastle County Middle School 7th grade students Bailee Brooks, Faith Harris, Abby Deleon, and Kovey Payne painted 90 wooden trophies to be given out at this years Kiwanis Club 5K event, “Run for Kids.” The community based project was organized by high school student, Kylee Fain as part of her coop experience.  Thank you to these students for their willingness to be a part of their community.

  • Kiwanis Helps Students Unite Against Bullying

    Kiwanis is proud to have supported RCMS as they celebrated National Unity Day on Wednesday, October 23rd. This day is set aside for students to unite for a bully free school. Our club contributed toward the purchase of United Against Bullying color changing pencils.  

  • Rockcastle Kiwanis Supports RCHS Cheerleaders

    Rockcastle Kiwanis is pleased to support Rockcastle County High School Cheerleaders by making a donation to their squad. Freshman Cheerleader Emma Ballinger and Junior Cheerleader Kerrigan Medley along with their Coach, Joannie Alexander, shared their plans and goals for the upcoming year.  The donation will be used for music, choreography, travel and various other expenses. We wish them the best of luck this school year!
