• Kiwanis Members Visit Roundstone Elementary School Garden

    Members of the Kiwanis Club of Rockcastle County visited the Roundstone Elementary School garden on Thursday, September 26th.  Members enjoyed lunch with students prior to visiting the school garden and listening to a short presentation by Melissa Fairchild and Larry Bullen. Mrs. Fairchild, currently a 1st grade teacher, initiated the garden project about 10 years ago. Mr. Bullen, owner of Double-D Apple Orchard, assists with the garden’s maintenance and upkeep. The garden is used for a variety of student lessons and provides valuable hands-on experience. Kiwanis is proud to be a sponsor of the school garden.   • Rockcastle Arts Association Presents at Kiwanis Meeting

    Carrie Mullins with the Rockcastle Arts Association was the guest speaker at the August 29, 2019 Kiwanis meeting. She shared details about past and upcoming projects, programs and workshops. Kiwanis is especially proud to be a partner for the Noel Night Market and Annual Tree Lighting, which will be held December 5, 2019 downtown Mt. Vernon.
