Kiwanis Helps Schools Celebrate Unity Day

Rockcastle Kiwanis and Rockcastle County Schools observed Unity Day on Thursday, October 24, 2018. Unity Day is the signature event of National Bullying Prevention month & has been recognized in the U.S. since 2011. To raise awareness, individuals, schools, communities, & businesses wear or display orange to show support for students who have been bullied.

As a special treat, members of our local Kiwanis Club were on-site at each school serving orange sherbet ice cream and providing a message of kindness and acceptance. The club also sponsored Unity Day bookmarks for each student.
