Kiwanis Members Visit Roundstone Elementary School Garden

Members of the Kiwanis Club of Rockcastle County visited the Roundstone Elementary School garden on Thursday, September 26th.  Members enjoyed lunch with students prior to visiting the school garden and listening to a short presentation by Melissa Fairchild and Larry Bullen. Mrs. Fairchild, currently a 1st grade teacher, initiated the garden project about 10 years ago. Mr. Bullen, owner of Double-D Apple Orchard, assists with the garden’s maintenance and upkeep. The garden is used for a variety of student lessons and provides valuable hands-on experience.
